CAIRO, 29 November 2005 — Young Egyptian actress Muna Shalabi has expressed her disappointment at the credits of her latest film “Al Hayat Muntaha El Litha” (Life’s Extreme Desire), stressing that it did not present her in a way that suits her.
The actress claimed that the makers of the film gave her less credit in order to highlight the new actress Zeina, and Muna finds this unacceptable.
Prominent Egyptian actor Hannan Turk stars alongside Muna, in addition to Zaina, Ahmad Rateb, Majdi Kamil, and features Lebanese singer Yuri Imrakadi.
The romantic film is the first directing experience for Manal Al Saifi, and is also the first film written by Shahira Salam. The film is produced by Nihad Ramzi.
On a different note, Muna is currently reading the script for a new television drama series, “Nisaa La Ta’raf Al Nadam” (Women Who Do Not Know Regret), directed by Wael Fahmi Abdul Hameed.
Muna will costar with young actor Mai Izz El Din in the drama written by Mamdouh Fahmi.
The drama revolves around the lives of five girls who lose their father to drug addiction. Their mother is raped and is subsequently imprisoned for killing her attacker.
The sisters become psychologically unstable and turn to violence. The Voice of Cairo will produce the drama and has set aside a large budget to ensure that the work will be one of the best for showing next year during the holy month of Ramadan.
