The Islamic Development Bank (IDB) will participate as the multilateral strategic partner in WIBC scheduled in Bahrain from Dec. 10-12. Headquartered in Jeddah and comprising four members, the IDB Group consists of the IDB (the flagship of the group), Islamic Research and Training Institute, (IRTI), Islamic Corporation for the Insurance of Investment and Export Credit (ICIEC), and the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD). “By way of our participation in WIBC we are fulfilling one of our objectives, which is to enhance and support the development of Islamic banking and finance,” IDB President Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Ali said. “The IDB Group uses modes of finance that are Shariah compatible for our operations.” This year’s WIBC will feature pre-conference briefings on Dec 10 and eight conference sessions over the next two days. The conference theme is “Unlocking market opportunities — consolidation, innovation and growth.”
