The Bangladesh International School (English Section) celebrated the outstanding results of the IGCSE students in the June 2005 examinations at a dinner held at La Sani restaurant in Jeddah on Nov. 15.

Members of the School Governing Board, Acting Principal Dr. Vandana Mittal, Vice Principal Mrs. Eleanor Acheson and staff as well as the parents joined in and applauded the remarkable achievements of the IGCSE students. Each student was presented with a gold medal and a certificate as a token for their hard work.

Abdur Rouf Bhuiyan, the chairman of the School Governing Board, made an emotional speech voicing his appreciation to the staff and management for their dedication and continual efforts to improve the school. “I am very proud to see the success of our school... Thanks to these fantastic results, we are today known as the best international school in Jeddah.”

Some of the students expressed warm appreciation for the staff and their parents after which they presented each teacher a personalized card and a rose. K.M. Saifur Rahman, a parent, spoke for everyone when he bestowed credit upon the school for having done such a great job reiterating that strong foundations make for strong buildings.

Having been established in 1993, the school has grown by leaps and bounds. It offers the British curriculum in the major disciplines of science and commerce along with maths and English. The school is up to A Level managed by a team of result-oriented teachers and management.

The strong involvement of parents of Bangladeshi community in the education of their children has been the biggest motivating factor in the school’s success.
