NEW DELHI, 4 December 2005 — Uttar Pradesh police have sought the help of the Interpol to nab the culprits responsible for killing of BJP MLA Krishnanand Rai in Ghazipur in case they flee the country, a senior official said yesterday. Principal Secretary (Home) Alok Sinha told reporters that the police had established contact with the Interpol to trace the culprits in case they leave the country. He, however, said so far there has been no information of the assailants leaving the country. Sinha said the investigation was on but admitted there was no notable progress in it. He also acknowledged the Special Task Force of the state police had been getting information about the activities of criminal gangs in Ghazipur. Sinha said the police had made arrangments to provide security to the witnesses of the killings.
