JEDDAH, 12 August 2006 — Mobily is offering 30-percent discount on all calls made to any number in India during the off-peak time (from 5:00 p.m. till 7:00 a.m.) from today to next Wednesday (Aug. 16) as part of a major marketing drive. “This discount will be applicable on favorite international number rate to India as well. This is the first of such promotions offered by a mobile operator in the Kingdom,” said Mobily’s Deputy Chief Marketing officer Ahmed Alhosani.

He said this would be followed by a series of promotions for callers to other countries in the coming few weeks, meeting the various demands of the company’s customers whose international calls during summer increase. “Mobily has always been trying to meet the demands of its valued customers in order to please them,” Alhosani said. He also claimed that Mobily was offering the most competitive international call rate in the Kingdom and the Gulf.

Since it started operations last year, Mobily had made two major reductions on its international rates. “It is worthy to mention that Mobily has already lowered its charges on international calls as part of the company’s celebration of the first anniversary,” he pointed out.

Mobily announced unprecedented discounted tariff for international calls to all customers in both prepaid and postpaid packages. The rate is applicable to customers when they register for their favorite international number, and it is valid at any time during weekdays and weekends, eliminating peak and off-peak rates. Mobily clients can now make calls to GCC for 0.80 halalas per minute instead of SR1.10 in the past, while Filipinos can contact their family members and friends in their country for SR1.90 instead of SR2.30 per minute.

The first half of this year saw Mobily registering 74 percent increase in the number of its clients as it attracted as many as 1.9 million new clients to bring the total to 4.2 million.
