BAHA, 8 August 2006 — Ha ha! A Saudi youth thought it would be funny to chase his cousin by stealing his father’s keys and turning pop’s car into an oversized go-kart, the Okaz daily reported yesterday. With the predictable outcome of mixing a pre-teen boy and a one-ton toy, another kid — the boy’s cousin — ended up in serious condition after being run over by the car. The little driver thought it would be cool to chase after his cousin in a car but ended up running over the kid in the chase. The child was taken to a local hospital in serious condition.
Forgotten Bag Puts Restaurateur on Edge
DAMMAM, 8 August 2006 — Police were called to a restaurant here after the owner of the establishment noticed a bag containing something under a table, the Okaz daily reported yesterday. Presuming the worst, that the bag might contain some explosives planted by a self-righteous deviant who feels justified in killing innocent civilians to make a point, the owner asked everyone to evacuate and called the police. Police arrived to discover a bag full of new clothes that had been left behind by a customer. Better safe than sorry.
