MADINAH, 27 April 2006 — Two children aged 10 and 12 fell from the second-floor window of an apartment building in Madinah on Monday while their parents were napping inside.
The two brothers were precariously positioned on a windowsill watching traffic in the busy Al-Salam Street when the younger one lost balance and fell on the road several meters below, Al-Watan daily reported. On seeing his brother fall, the other boy either jumped from the window or fell, but a billboard broke his fall. Civil Defense personnel found the child unconscious when they climbed on to the billboard to rescue him.
It was only around this time the parents woke up and learned the accident that befell their children. Both the children were admitted to the Ansar Hospital.
