JEDDAH, 29 April 2006 — Students of Help Center displayed their pottery work and handicrafts in the two-day annual pottery bazaar, which raised SR25,000 to help mentally disabled children.
Help Center invited parents, schools, consulates and compounds to participate in this year’s event, which ended on Wednesday.
“The center has been holding this bazaar since it started in 1985,” said Reem Gazzaz, public relations manager. “Students are really talented. They perform many activities, such as pottery, weaving and handicrafts.”
There are currently 350 students in the center handled by 156 employees. Help Center accepts students, both boys and girls, from birth until the age of 18.
They study together in a mixed environment until they are 11 when they are segregated. Students pay an annual tuition of SR150.
Help Center is a non-profit organization established by the late businessman Ahmed Al-Juffali and his wife Suad Al-Hussaini Al-Juffali.
