IT all started after Rola Banajah had arranged for her child’s first year birthday last March. She had spent a lot of time preparing for it from her heart to her beloved child. Little children who arrived at his party were fascinated with the colors, arrangements and creative ideas Banajah had put together. And from then on, she says, mothers started to call her to arrange their children’s birthdays. “The news spread one mother to another and from one child to another after each occasion that I organized, and that helped me be recognized.”

Banajah studied Communication Art at the American University in Beirut. She also studied directing and producing, but when she came to the Kingdom, she did not find a future for what she studied considering that most of the directing and shooting is produced outside of the Kingdom. Ideas started to flow, and eventually she found a creative outlet in creating unforgettable birthdays and special occasions. Living in Lebanon also gave her the chance to observe the variety of options and to establish good relationships with Lebanese events’ designers.

After choosing the theme of the party, Banajah takes full responsibility from A to Z. You do not have to worry about anything, just give her a notice at least two weeks in advance and let her handle everything. Your child will get clowns to dance, magicians to perform, ponies to ride and delicious food to eat.

Banajah once was requested to present the party with a Hawaiian theme. It was a challenge for her due to the short time she had. The tropical Hawaiian theme was arranged and African dancers wearing Hawaiian costumes were dancing while the birthday child entered the party. Guests had flowers necklaces made especially for the occasion and distributed as each one was entering the place. Little children at the end took their souvenirs from the mouth of a huge African mask made also to suit the occasion.

Beside the Hawaiian them, Banajah has other themes. Boys, for example, can have their fun the Spider-Man theme, or racing cars, or Nemo, Barney and Scooby-Doo, too. Girls had their share of fun with Snow White and Disney princesses and their castles. Some of these things were brought from Lebanon and others were hand made here by Banajah.

The surprise is that Banajah was until recently working on her own for almost a year now. “I have things in my mind,” she said, “and no matter what I cannot leave the area I’m charged to organize unless I’m satisfied by seeing everything in the place I wanted it to be.”

For the meantime, she found that this is fulfilling to her interest to create birthday parties and special occasions like baby showers. Being creative and giving parents and children the parties that they longed to have, cherish and always remember is very valuable to her. Kids are really fun to deal with and bring joy to one’s heart. And even though she is thinking of extending her experiments to come up with unique ideas for weddings, innovating children birthdays will always be her favorite.
