JEDDAH, 13 May 2006 — MBC4 has brought forward the scheduled airing of the new fourth series of ‘Charmed’ so viewers can now catch the “hugely popular” show five nights a week.

The fourth series sees the remaining two sisters Piper (Holly Marie Combs) and Phoebe (Alyssa Milano) recovering from the tragic death of their sister Prue (Shannon Doherty), thereby losing the power of three.

However, they soon discover that they have a younger half-sister Paige (Rose McGowan) who enables them to reclaim their mystic powers in their continued fight against evil.

There was intense controversy surrounding the departure of Doherty when this fourth series aired in the US. Claims were made that Milano and Doherty despised each other so much that they refused to work together, while other rumors alleged that Doherty was so difficult to work with that she was fired.

Whatever the truth may be, despite similar controversy also surrounding her departure from Beverly Hills 90210, the producer of both these shows, Aaron Spelling, who hired Doherty has said publicly that he would have no hesitation in hiring her again.

In season four of Charmed, the drama continues to explore the sisters’ struggle to balance normal lives with their supernatural responsibilities, as the burden of keeping their destinies a secret from the outside world has repeatedly created tensions in their friendships, workplaces and romantic relationships.

Charmed season four can be seen at 8 p.m. daily from Saturday to Wednesday.
