JEDDAH, 4 June 2006 — Zuhair ibn Abdul Hafeez Nawab has been appointed president of the Saudi Geological Survey (SGS), the Saudi Press Agency reported yesterday. Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah made the appointment issuing a royal decree.
Nawab, former deputy minister for mineral resources, replaces Muhammad Tawfiq, who was the president of SGS since its inception. Before his new posting, Nawab was adviser to the minister of petroleum and minerals and a member of SGS’ board of directors.
