The FinePix Z3 Shoots Intelligently

The FinePix Z3 is the latest model in Fujifilm’s Z-series of digital cameras. The camera comes in traditional silver or metallic blue, with a sixth generation, 5.1 megapixel super CCD sensor and a second generation RP (real photo) Processor. The Z3 features a reinforced, scratch-resistant, 2.5-inch LCD with a 230,000-pixel resolution and Fujifilm’s glare-reducing CV film for better viewing in direct light. The camera is equipped with a high-quality, non-extending, refractive 3x optical zoom lens from Fujinon that keeps the Z3 thin. Fourteen pre-programmed scene positions trigger optimal settings based on the surrounding conditions. Other noteworthy features include VGA movie recording of 30 frames per second with sound and 10MB of internal memory, this provides extra storage space should the user want to squeeze in a couple of additional shots once the xD Picture Card is full.

The FinePix Z3 combines higher light sensitivities (up to ISO 1600) with faster shutter speeds to stabilize pictures and reduce blur caused by both camera shake and subject movement. There is also a convenient “Picture Stabilization” button. The FinePix Z3’s Intelligent-Flash system, or “i-Flash,” is more advanced than similar flash systems because it can detect more accurately the subtle lighting differences within a scene and then light the subject accordingly with a variety of flash intensities. The camera also has a “Natural Light” shooting mode which preserves the scene mood and enhances background detail by shooting with faster shutter speeds at higher light sensitivities (if necessary) with a suppressed flash. This mode is perfect for low light moments that would otherwise be ruined by a powerful flash or situations where the use of flash is inappropriate.

Google Launches Arabic Gmail

As part of Google’s ongoing efforts to increase the use of its offering globally, Google has introduced a Gmail interface in Arabic. Gmail users who speak Arabic will benefit from an interface in their native language, more than 2GB of free storage and powerful search. Gmail also includes other enhancements such as free POP access, virus protection, automatic forwarding and support for most web browsers with a basic HTML version.

Launching these interfaces demonstrates Google’s continued focus on delivering innovations in the user experience. Google has designed these interfaces to expertly handle both “right-to-left” (RTL) languages as well as traditional languages that read left to right. These directionality controls allow for a better compose experience in a RTL language.
