RIYADH, 7 June 2006 — Pizza Inn has announced a major ambitious expansion plan across the six Gulf countries, targeting to open 15 new outlets in Saudi Arabia alone during the next six months at an investment of about SR30 million. The Riyadh-based United Food Company, which manages Pizza Inn for the region, currently operates 35 restaurants in Saudi Arabia and eight outlets in neighboring Qatar.
The expansion includes three outlets to be opened for the first time at different locations of Saudi Aramco facilities.
Referring to the company’s decision to expand its footprints across various markets of the six Gulf States with main focus on Saudi Arabia and Qatar in 2006, General Manager Khushru Mistry said, “the byouant economic growth of the region had led to rise in the spending on food and beverages, presenting an excellent opportunity to expand our reach.”
“A new Pizza Inn restaurant has already been opened on the Dabbab Street of Riyadh recently,” said Pizza Inn regional marketing chief Raj Shah, explaining various restaurant concepts promoted by this chain.
In 1991, Pizza Inn opened its first restaurant, owned and operated by the United Food Company, which is part of the Abdullah Abunayyan Group.
