JEDDAH, 20 July 2006 — The Lebanese Consulate announced that it has opened its doors to receive donations to help Lebanese civilians who have been affected by the ongoing Israeli attacks.
The consulate announced that anyone interested in helping the Lebanese people could donate money by transferring money to the Lebanese Higher Commission of Aid’s account in the Bank of Lebanon. The account number for Lebanese lira donations is: 01700362123 and: 02700362123 if in US dollars.
Ahmed Sewidan, the Lebanese general consul in Jeddah, said that as soon as the Israeli attack began the consulate began receiving telephone calls from Saudis asking how they could help. “We were overwhelmed by the passionate response that we received,” said Sewidan.
