JEDDAH, 31 August 2006 — The King Abdul Aziz National Dialogue Center will hold five preparatory meetings in September in different parts of the Kingdom to collect input for the next forum, which will take place in December.

The aim of the sixth forum, entitled “Education: Facts and Ways of Developments,” will be to address the Kingdom’s strategies for improving its educational system.

Some of the preparatory meetings will take place in the southwest of the Kingdom beginning on Sept. 9 in Najran, before moving to the other southern cities of Abha, Jizan, Baha and Taif and ending on Sept. 17. The meetings will be forums where members of the public will present their input on the subject. “The main purpose of the meetings is to widen the circle of dialogue of participants in discussing our national issues and specially the topic of education that touches every family,” said Faisal ibn Muammar, the dialogue center’s spokesperson. The second set of preparatory meetings will take place in the northwestern region, including Madinah. The central and eastern regions will have these meetings later. The last stage of the preparatory meetings will cover Riyadh and Dammam.
