JEDDAH, 27 September 2006 — As a gesture of solidarity with war-torn Lebanon, the National Commercial Bank (NCB) is offering its Lebanese customers who are residents in the Kingdom a free of charge service for remittances sent back home by SWIFT transfers done through Al-Ahli Online and IVR (interactive voice response telephone). “NCB is always ready and willing to respond to special needs and situations and in this instance we wish to show our support for Lebanon at this tragic time in its history. To celebrate the Holy Month of Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr we are making this service available free of charge to our Lebanese customers because it will facilitate the speedy transfer of much-needed funds that will help to revive the country’s economy at a time when there is much rebuilding and re-establishment of business activities to be done,” said NCB spokesperson. The service is valid from the beginning of Ramadan (Sept. 23) and ends on Oct. 26. NCB’s Al-Ahli Online service gives customers access to most of the bank’s services and enables them to complete a wide range of transactions without having to leave their homes and offices.
