JEDDAH, 7 October 2006 — Work on King Abdul Aziz Cultural Center in Raghama, a small town east of Jeddah, will be completed within four months, according to Jeddah Mayor Adel Fakieh. Culture and Information Minister Iyad Madani visited the center on Thursday.
Speaking to reporters after visiting the center, Madani commended the Jeddah Municipality for carrying out this vital project. “Being a large city with a lot people, Jeddah needs many such centers,” he said.
Efforts are under way for the soft-opening of the center, which includes five halls, a library and a research center.
King Abdul Aziz and his men camped in Raghama when they arrived in Jeddah as part of a campaign to unify the Kingdom.
