DUBAI, 10 October 2006 — The Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) office has announced the Ideal Arab Mother and Family Awards honoring exemplary mothers and families during this 2006-2007 DSF from Dec. 20 to Feb. 2. Two “Ideal Mothers” and two “Ideal Arab Families” will receive $40,000 in prizes and $10,000 each. “The award is an appreciation for the larger role that a mother and a family play in creating positive and productive citizens,” said Laila Suhail, DSF chief marketing officer. “Though a mother’s sacrifice for her family is immeasurable, we can only pay a humble tribute in recognition of her services to her family and the society at large.” The award has been applying accurate criteria in selecting the right candidates while putting the spotlight on exemplary mothers and families, she said.
