ALKHOBAR, 20 March 2007 — In various ways, Steve Hunt has been part of the security industry for the past 25 years. Today he is involved in many aspects of the security industry as adviser, investor, futurist and consultant, although most people still associate him with the role he had from 1998 to 2005 while running security think-tanks at Giga Information Group and Forrester Research. In 2006 he was named one of the 25 most influential people in the industry by one magazine and an industry visionary by another.
A few years ago, Hunt founded the research firm 4A International to focus on the convergence of physical security with IT. Business has been booming at 4A, but Hunt’s role as a strategic adviser to industry organizations, investors and vendors led him to end his day-to-day involvement in research at 4A in order to protect the firm’s impartiality.
With some time on his hands, in January of this year Hunt launched a blog at www.SecurityDreamer.com. His blog aims to put forward insights and critiques related to physical, homeland and IT security.
