JEDDAH, 21 March 2007 — An international forum for banks and investments is being held at the Jeddah Hilton from April 8-10.
Prince Saud Al-Abdullah Al-Faisal, chairman of Trade Exhibitions and Conferences Ltd. (TRADEX Arabia), which is organizing the event with the support of Makkah Governor Prince Abdul Majeed, told the media yesterday that the forum would mainly focus on investment opportunities in the Kingdom.
The forum is set for opening on April 8. On its second day, the forum will discuss the new investment environment and how it reflects on banking services. It will have subsessions in the morning on the role of Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency and the jurisdiction of financial establishments, as well as hopes and expectations of banking establishments and services. Future challenges of banking services and electronic transactions will be discussed in depth.
The afternoon session will devote to the role of the insurance sector in the economy, especially after the Kingdom’s WTO (World Trade Organization) accession. There will be subsessions on the insurance industry from an international perspective and insurance services from the Shariah point of view.
