DUBAI, 23 March 2007 — The Dubai Gold & Jewelry Group will host the 2008 Congress of CIBJO, the World Jewelry Confederation, in Dubai. This the first time ever that a CIBJO Congress is being held in the emirate. An international alliance of national jewelry trade organizations formed in 1926, CIBJO aims to encourage harmonization, promote international cooperation in the jewelry industry and to consider issues which concern the trade worldwide. “CIBJO’s decision to hold its next annual congress in Dubai is a landmark achievement for UAE’s jewelry industry,” Tawhid Abdullah, managing director, Dubai Gold & Jewelry Group, said.
