RIYADH, 23 March 2007 — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah yesterday issued a decree reconstituting the Council of Ministers without any change for the present ministers and their portfolios for the next four years.
In two other royal orders, several high-ranking officials and presidents of a number of universities were either appointed or their tenures extended for four more years.
Those whose terms were extended are Prince Turki ibn Abdullah ibn Muhammad and Abdul Mohsen ibn Abdul Aziz Al-Toweijari as advisers to the king, Osama Faqeeh, president of the General Audit Bureau, and Abdul Rahman ibn Hassan Al-Nafisa, adviser at the royal court.
The decree extended the terms of the presidents of various universities for four years. They are: Abdullah ibn Muhammad Al-Rashid, King Khaled University; Yusuf ibn Muhammad Al-Jandan, King Faisal University; Khaled ibn Saleh Al-Sultan, King Fahd University for Petroleum and Minerals; and Osama Sadiq Abdul Rahman Tayyib, King Abdul Aziz University.
The following appointments of university presidents were announced in the royal order:
Suleiman ibn Abdullah Abu Al-Khayl, Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University; Adnan ibn Muhammad Wazan, Umm Al-Qura University; Muhammad ibn Ali Al-Akla, Islamic University; and Abdullah ibn Abdul Rahman Al-Othman, King Saud University.
The decrees also extended the service of Abdullah ibn Muhammad Raheemy as the head of Civil Aviation.
King Abdullah appointed Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah Al-Shenqiti as the president of the Court of Grievances and Saleh ibn Saud Al-Ali as the head of the Monitoring and Investigations Commission (the Kingdom’s version of the attorney general’s office), and Saleh ibn Manie Al-Khelaiwi as director general of the Customs.
