The news is full of doom and gloom about Iraq, but somehow the conference organizers of the 4th Rebuild Iraq Exhibition 2007 don’t think that the situation in that nation is so dire. Being promoted by Orange Fairs & Events (www.orangefairs.com) as the largest international trade exhibition on the rebuilding of Iraq, the show will be held June 3 to 6 in Amman.
The organizers note that representatives from 13 Iraqi ministries and the municipalities of Baghdad and Basra have already confirmed attendance at the show. There is interest in goods and services in every sector from Building & Construction to Textiles. Over 600 exhibitors from 30 countries are expected at the exhibition.
Rebuild Iraq organizers have made arrangements with Iraqi ministries in order to send delegations to negotiate contracts with exhibitors. Also a large number of qualified Iraqi businessmen plan to visit the exhibition in order to set up agency and distribution deals.
Nafees Ahmed, project manager for Orange Fairs stated that conservative estimates indicate that $70 billion will be spent in Iraq in the short and medium terms. In the long term, it is estimated that the nation will spend more than $150 billion in order to reconstruct and rehabilitate all sectors of the Iraqi economy.
