RIYADH, 9 January 20008 — Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, Chairman of Kingdom Holding Company (KHC), recently met with the Egyptian Minister of Information Anas Ahmed El-Fiky at the George V Hotel in Paris.
They discussed economic and social issues as well as bilateral relations between their respective countries, KHC said in a statement yesterday.
Alwaleed’s investments in Egypt are in media, hotels, banking and agriculture sectors.
His investments in the media sector are through Rotana, such as Rotana Clip, Rotana Tarab, Rotana Cinema and Rotana Zaman Ronana's film library that has an archive of 1,500 Egyptian films, plus Al-Resalah which is broadcasted from Egypt and through Nile Sat promoting many Egyptian artists and their music videos.
He also invested in modernizing the archiving and film restoration technology to preserve and restore a library of old Egyptian films.
Alwaleed held a press conference in Cairo early last year on Toshka development project.
He also holds stakes in hotels in Egypt through Kingdom Hotel Investments (KHI) and through international companies that include 4 Four Seasons Hotels, 2 Fairmont Raffles Hotel and 6 Mövenpick Hotels and 5 Mövenpick Cruisers.
Furthermore, the prince has made substantial humanitarian donations to help the Egyptian people in times of disaster and has also contributed to cultural and educational causes.
