JEDDAH, 18 January 2008 — The Service Academy that LG is establishing in Dubai by April will provide training to all of its trainees from the region LG’s senior management executive said here on Wednesday night.

“We are establishing the Service Academy that will train technicians from Saudi Arabia and elsewhere from the region,” K.B. Sung, president of LG Middle East, told Arab News on the sidelines of the opening of a new service headquarters Telecompu Mall on Palestine Street here.

“All our technicians in the Kingdom and elsewhere in the region need to update themselves with the emerging new technology and upgrade their skills,” he added.

Sung and Ammar Naghi, president of United Yousef M. Naghi Co. Ltd., one of the largest distributors of LG Electronic home appliances and consumer electronic products in Saudi Arabia, opened the service headquarters.

The new service center is the stand-alone headquarters of the company’s service network, with support from its customer information center, which was established in 2006.

“This is a wonderful example that United Naghi is setting for other distributors in the Kingdom. I am honored to be here for the inauguration of the first of many service centers,” Sung said.

“With the center being linked to the company’s other departments through an online network, customers can now call a toll-free number (800-244-2929) to get state-of-the-art service for their LG appliances, Naghi said. All customer calls are backed by a promise to receive a response within 24 hours. “Besides, the support of 36 well-equipped vehicles operating as mobile workshops with 92 thoroughly trained technicians will provide the first-class service that United Naghi feels their customers deserve,” Naghi added

“The Kingdom is saturated with companies that have no after-sales service, leaving consumers with little or no help,” he said. “At Unite Naghi we know that the consumer is making a long-term investment in their home appliances; this is just one more way of showing our customers that we are dedicated to giving our customers the highest level of service,” Naghi added.

Customers who visit the service center are welcomed into an inviting atmosphere.

The waiting room is equipped with a sophisticated home theater system for guests to enjoy while their appliances are being serviced. In addition to the spacious workshop, the center’s total area of 1,200 square meters also includes a well-sorted training school and a large storage facility for spare parts to cut down on the turnaround time for repairs.

LG General Manager for Saudi Arabia Simon Lee said: “After seeing the facility, I can only confirm that United Naghi will have many more successful stories with LG. They continue to break the barriers of customer service in Saudi Arabia.”

United Naghi’s Director for LG Operations Raed R. Al-Rasheed and National service Manager Abdul Latheef Nadukandy explained the special feaures of the service headquarters.
