RIYADH, 31 January 2008 — Mobily, the second mobile operator in the Kingdom, launched yesterday a new package dubbed “Najma” for women.
David Murphy, Mobily’s chief marketing officer, said Najma is an innovative tailor-made package to fulfill the communication needs of women subscribers.
“Najma is the result of months of research into the specific needs of women, we have built a very attractive price plan and some excellent additional services to satisfy those needs,” he added.
“Calls to other Mobily subscribers and landlines are priced at 20 halalas per minute from 7:00 PM and 7:00 AM and 30 halalas for a minute for the remaining period of the day. Calls to other mobile networks are set at a flat rate of 30 halalas and the monthly subscription at SR40.”
The new package services include free live TV feeds, access to six mobile content bundles such as Beauty and Style, Nutrition, Family, Entertainment and Islam.
The package also provides interactive services, such as weight-to-height ratio checks. The woman subscriber has to send an SMS message stating her height and weight and she will get an immediate reply indicating her appropriate weight to her height, Murphy explained.
There is also a service for keeping tabs on the children’s vaccination schedules. The subscriber would receive periodical messages that remind her of the vaccination when it falls due, he said. Moreover, new subscribers get 200 free points in the “Neqaty” program once they activate their line, which can be converted into one of Mobily’s services or traded for actual products or services at any of Neqaty partners.
Those who want to subscribe to Najma can visit any of Mobily’s women only branches (Al-Jawhara branches) in Riyadh, Jeddah, Alkhobar and Dammam, Murphy added.
Mobily is the first 3G mobile operator in the Kingdom.
