The BMG Saudi Index continued to go up for the second day in a row in its third trading session this week. The index went up by 0.5 percent to 517.7 points. The market turnover, reversed its performance from Sunday’s session and increased by 10.3 percent to SR3.8 billion ($1.0 billion), up from SR3.4 billion ($918 million) registered in Sunday’s session.
All sectors appreciated except for the electricity sector, which declined by a marginal 0.04 percent and the banking sector, which witnessed no change. The best performer was the insurance sector, for the second consecutive day, with a 4.2 percent increase. The agricultural sector came in second with a 1.9 percent climb up to be followed by the services sector with a 1.3 percent rise. The telecommunications sector outperformed the industrial sector by 0.1 percent, going up by 0.6 percent.
The worst performing stock in the session was Saudi International Petrochemical Company again, with a 3.3 percent decrease in its share price to SR37.25 per share, whereas the best performer was Malath Insurance.
