JEDDAH, 8 February 2008 — Good news for art lovers, hobbyists, students, art teachers and “the young at heart” with passion in drawing and painting. Here’s your chance to further develop and hone your inert talent and master your craft in the world of art exploration.
The Guhit Pinoy Foundation is launching its first and one-of-a-kind seminar/workshop dubbed “Art Clinic for Art Lovers.” The program, part of the observance of the Philippines’ National Arts Month, is a 4-Friday session starting today. It will be held at the Philippine Sunrise International School from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m.
Various art topics will be discussed including color rendering, strokes, styles, and proper usage of different mediums. There will be art illustrations on oil painting, water color, charcoal, acrylic, pencil sketching, sculpture, art mounting and many more.
“We have so many talented kababayans that have yet to be discovered. Their hidden talents have to be uncovered, developed and enhanced,” said Ramon “Rojo” Realuyo, a well-known painter and sculpture artist.
Many parents have expressed their support for the program, which aims to help guide their children on the importance of art.
“Without art, all things are meaningless,” said Ronald Macapagal, a parent of four.
Expected to join Realuyo and Gerry Quinto in sharing their respective expertise in art are Chris Alcantara, Diody Capellan, Ferdie Magsino, Sam Tucay, Elmo Tumang and Warlito Gabriel.
The project is in cooperation with Kulay Pinoy, Bag-ong Bicol Saro nin Jeddah, Philippine Sunrise International School, Sadafco, Nivea, Nestle and Papa John’s Pizza.
