JEDDAH, 15 February 2008 — Thirty-one out of 107 participants passed the Philippine architect licensure examination held in Alkhobar and Jeddah late last year, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) has said.
The successful examinees in Jeddah are: Danilo Pacete Bacit, Jose Nicolasora Bagay, Gerard Esquivel Caceres; Armando Baldidomar Corpuz, Jose Villar Genonangan Jr., Al-Rajiv Mohammad Ismael, Ramon Bautista Laxamana Jr., Dandreb Galam Orallo, Edgardo Austria Ponce, Nilo Parambita Salvedia, and Isidoro Mallari Yumang.
For Alkhobar, the passers are:
Arnel Lizardo Amorin, Melito Tabaco Cabasag, Zaldy Macalma Dampog, Nelson Lapayag Inovejas, Jonsen Mendoza Javier, Louie Arbis Javier, Aristotle Reyes Muta, Eddie Orila Ocaya, Alvin Baculio Paculba, and Jose Toledo Ramos Jr.
The PRC said nine of the examinees also passed but their registration has been deferred pending compliance with certain documentary requirements. They are: (from Jeddah) Ariel Ayo Conales, Morris Aglibut Dimatera, Hilario Manset Malipol, Ronnie Rivera Ulip, and (from Alkhobar) Alan Castaneda, Ruel Faustino Sebuk Chua, Boe Lester Espellogo Encabo, Arnold Viray Lazaro, Antonio Inso Robles Jr., and Godie Aquino Soriano.
According to Roger Gonzales, external affairs director of the Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers in the Western Region (PSME-WRSA) who provided the list of passers to Arab News, last year’s examination was the first in the Kingdom for Filipino architects.
The PRC had previously administered examinations jointly for mechanical, civil and electrical engineers and master electricians.
Last year’s exams were administered by a team headed by PRC licensure director Amelia Empaynado.
In the Alkhobar exams that were held on Dec. 20 and 21, some 200 examinees in different fields from the Eastern and Central regions participated.
There were 130 examinees in the Jeddah exams that were held on Dec. 24 and 25.
In the 90s, then President Fidel Ramos ordered the PRC to start conducting licensure examinations abroad as part of a government program to help Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) enhance their careers.
