RIYADH, 21 February 2008 — Minister/Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Pakistan, Riyadh, Ghulam Fareed Farrukh, who will be leaving soon to assume charge as the ambassador-designate to Mauritius and other island nations in the Indian Ocean, was given a farewell here on Tuesday night.
The farewell dinner hosted in his honor at the embassy community hall was attended by Ambassador Shahid Karimullah, Head of Chancery Sarfraz Ahmad Khanzada, embassy officials, a large number of diplomats and members of the Pakistani community.
Farrukh is a career diplomat having previous postings in Ankara, Colombo, Canberra and Berlin. He was popular among friends, colleagues and members of the Pakistani community.
