JEDDAH — Kodikkunnel Suresh, an Indian member of Parliament, visited Soma Kumar, 40, at Ghazzawi Hospital at Anakesh here.
Kumar, who has been working here as taxi driver for the past 12 years, was admitted to the hospital after his left side was paralyzed following a stroke.
Suresh said he would arrange for Kumar’s medical treatment in Kerala. He hails from Paravoor in Kollam district.
“There is a considerable improvement in Kumar’s condition and he can travel to India within two-three days,” said Hospital Manager Ahmed Parakkal. Kumar has no relatives in the Kingdom and has not received any support from his sponsor. However, the Taxi Drivers Association, the Kollam Pravasi Sangham and many other community organizations are giving support for his treatment at the hospital, Parakkal said.
