The BMG Saudi Index gained 0.3 percent to end yesterday’s session at 566.6 points. The total turnover declined by 19.9 percent to SR4.8 billion ($1.3 billion), compared to SR6.0 billion ($1.6 billion), registered in Tuesday’s trading session.
Only two sectors performed negatively, whereas the other sector appreciated. The Electricity sector was the best performer, rising by 1.6 percent. Both the Industrial and Agricultural sectors went up by 1 percent, while the Insurance sector and the Services sector recorded a rise of 0.9 percent and 0.3 percent, respectively, in their closing levels. Conversely, the Banking sector incurred a 1.4 percent decline in its closing level, whereas the Telecommunications sector dipped by 0.3 percent.
Saudi Indian Company for Cooperative Insurance was the best performer, going up by 5.4 percent to SR92.5 per share. The leading share, Al-Rajhi Bank, was the session’s worst performer, moving down by 1.6 percent to close at SR101.25 per share. The other leading share, Saudi Basic Industries Corp. (SABIC), drove the index up, appreciating by 1.5 percent to SR187.0 per share.
