ISLAMABAD, 2 March 2008 — Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Ali Awadh Al-Asiri met with Pakistan People’s Party Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari here yesterday.
Speaking about the meeting, PPP Sen. Enwar Baig told Arab News: “The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a time-tested Islamic friend of Pakistan and it proved a friend in need at all times. Our party accords the highest priority to Pakistan’s friendship with Saudi Arabia and Zardari conveyed his best wishes to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah and the people of Saudi Arabia during the meeting.”
In an interview with Indian television news channel CNN-IBN, Zardari, whose party is expected to assume power in Pakistan, said India and Pakistan should not become hostage to the Kashmir issue.
