The BMG Saudi Index witnessed a turnaround in its performance in the last trading session of this week, ending the session on a negative note, going down by 0.8% to close yesterday’s session at 546.29 points. The market turnover also reversed its performance going up by a strong 23.9%, to reach SR4.2 billion ($1.1 billion), compared to SR3.4 billion ($908 million), registered in Tuesday’s session.

The BMG Saudi Index’s sectors closed on a negative note. The Electricity sector continued to witness no change, whereas the Insurance and Banking sectors advanced by 3.7 percent and 0.7 percent, respectively. The other sectors moved down, with the Telecommunications, Services, Industrial, and Agricultural sectors stepping down by 0.4 percent, 0.9 percent, 1.7 percent, and 2.1 percent, respectively.

7Seven shares recorded gains, whilst 16 shares depreciated. The worst performer, which was Tuesday’s best performer, was Arriyadh Development Company whose share price dipped, by 3.6 percent, to SR26.75 per share. The best performer was Saudi Arabian Cooperative Insurance Company with an 8.8 percent increase in its price to SR95.75 per share. As for the leading shares’ performance, despite Al Rajhi Bank’s move up by 0.8 percent to SR99.0, SABIC moved down, by 2.1 percent, to SR177.75 per share, pulling the whole Index down, given its weighting in the market.
