MANAMA,13 March 2008 — The Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) has unveiled a blind-recognition feature, which is included in the new Bahrain banknotes to be introduced soon by the CBB. The new banknotes will be issued in the existing denominations of BD20, BD10, BD5, BD1 and BD1/2. No change is being made to the coins in circulation.
UAE to Introduce New Company Law

DUBAI — The United Arab Emirates will introduce a new company law in six months which will allow majority foreign ownership in some sectors, the country’s minister of economy said yesterday. “It will be ready within six months,” Sultan Al-Mansouri told reporters in Dubai. “We will allow that wherever it helps the economy of the UAE,” he said declining to name the sectors.
Gulf States Urged to Amend Bourse Laws

ABU DHABI — Gulf Arab countries need to amend laws that govern their bourses as the six nations pave the way for economic integration, the United Arab Emirates economy minister said. “We have to work together to unify legislation in our bourses to achieve the aspired merger that would complement the economic integration of our economies,” Sultan Al-Mansouri told the third Gulf stock market forum late on Monday.
