DHAKA, 17 March 2008 — The High Court in Dhaka yesterday declared illegal the proceedings of two separate cases against detained journalist Atiqullah Khan Masud, owner and editor of Janakantha newspaper. Masud, who also owns Janakantha Industrial Group and Globe Construction Ltd., has been charged with tax evasion by giving false statement about his income.
