JEDDAH, 3 April 2008 — KIA Motors Saudi Arabia has changed hands. It has gone to Al-Jabr Group, one of the largest business entities in the Kingdom.

Abdullatif Hamid Al-Jaber, chief executive of KIA Motors Saudi Arabia, told a press conference at the Jeddah Hilton on Monday that he was “fully satisfied” with the new arrangement. “Korean automotive companies are regarded as being pioneers and their products have high standing in global markets. KIA vehicles in particular have become well established in Saudi Arabia and we believe that there is enormous potential for growth as we will be introducing new models that fit into various categories to suit all sectors of the Kingdom’s auto market,” said Al-Jaber, who is also the chairman of the board of directors of Arab National Bank.

“We are determined to achieve new sales records and have completed our strategic planning for the next phase of operations, which will enable us to increase KIA sales to levels never before seen in the Saudi market,” he said.

Al-Jaber assured the customers of “the highest level of after-sales care, maintenance and spare parts availability.”
