JIZAN, 5 April 2008 — Police in Sabya, located in the southern province of Jizan, arrested yesterday several men suspected of being involved in the killing of a young man a few days earlier. The body of the youth, which was found outside the town, had 16 stab wounds. The death followed a fight, the police said. An investigation continues.
Principal Complains of Teacher’s Assault
MAKKAH, 5 April 2008 — The Education Department in Makkah is currently investigating a complaint by a private school principal regarding an assault from one of his teachers. The principal says the teacher beat him with an iqal (the black cable headband that holds the Saudi head scarf on the head). The teacher claims a fight broke out when he confronted the principal for berating him in front of his colleagues.
