JEDDAH — A bank in Jeddah impounded the car of a Saudi man who was SR10 short on his monthly car installment, Okaz daily reported yesterday. The man reported the car missing at a local police station and was told to check with the bank and make sure it hadn’t been impounded due to delayed or unpaid installments. When he went to the bank, he was told that the bank had indeed impounded his car due to an outstanding balance of SR10. A bank employee explained that the bank impounds cars based on a computerized list, produced at the beginning of each month, which shows the names of people who owe money to the bank. The employee told the man that the list did not show the amount of money owed and that in the future, he should pay the entire installment to avoid the same problem again.
