JEDDAH, 23 April 2008 — With an eye on achieving a 50 percent Internet online bookings within the next two years, Saudi Arabian Airlines launched its new extensively upgraded interactive website at its headquarters here yesterday. “The website’s new design and upgradation is part of the airline’s IT master plan,” the airline’s Director General, Khaled Al-Mulhim, said. “We have made use of the latest technology to raise the level of services and face the increasing competition among global airlines,” he added.

The website has been completely redesigned to serve as a comprehensive center for quick and integrated services, simplifying booking procedures and electronic payment, availing instant information on the various service packages including onboard services such as meals, audiovisual and publications. “The airline is also offering competitive prices year-round and attractive tourist packages as well as incentives on its frequent flying programs. “In fact, the new portal gives the website a global characteristic where passengers can book online in the language of their country of origin at any European or American destinations. This will be extended to other parts of the world soon,” he said.

In his presentation, Yousef A. Attiah, the airline’s vice president customer services, highlighted the features of the upgraded website. “The new website includes key components in terms of services and information and allows for future upgrades to enhance its competitive edge,” he said.

“The new website has also been strategically designed to project the airline’s fleet upgrades, development of technical infrastructure and training programs,” he said.
