RIYADH, 1 May 2008 — The Embassy of India in Riyadh will be organizing a ghazal evening (“Shaam-e-Ghazal”) by renowned ghazal singers Ahmed Hussain, Mohammed Hussain and Mohammed Vakil. The program will be held at the International Indian School Riyadh (Girls Section) auditorium at 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 8. The program is open only to Indian nationals. Invitation cards are available at the embassy, free of charge. Those interested should fax their requests with names and valid iqama copies along with their contact telephone numbers to the embassy on 01-4884750/4884713. PWS Medical Camp
JEDDAH, 1 May 2008 — The Pakistan Welfare Society (PWS) will hold a free medical camp at the premises of the Consulate General of Pakistan tomorrow. The registration of patients will begin at 4 p.m. Free medical checkup and diabetes tests will be carried out by doctors between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. and deserving patients will be given medicines free of cost. Gynecologists and pediatricians will also attend patients.
‘Synergy of Colors’
DAMMAM, 1 May 2008 — An art show titled “Synergy of Colors” by Dr. Ranjit Divakaran, maxillofacial surgeon at Armed Forces Hospital, Dhahran, began at Al-Zamil Store Hall (Third Floor) in Alkhobar yesterday. “The three-day exhibition is an attempt to take visitors through an introspective journey of human character, values and attitude,” said Divakaran, who holds a diploma in fine arts from Penn Foster Institute, Pennsylvania. Last year he staged a show titled “Textures and Colors” at Golden Belt Village in Dammam.
