JEDDAH, 30 May 2008 — Sajin Sunny Mathew of the International Indian Public School (IIPS) in Riyadh, with a score of 96.2 percent marks, has topped the Indian schools in the Kingdom at the all-India secondary examination Class X conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education whose results were announced yesterday.
Among the students of the International Indian Schools in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Jubail, Nithin Vinod Upot of Jeddah has topped the exam. He has scored 95.8 percent marks, followed by Mirdula Mary Thomas of Riyadh with 95 percent. In third place are Pournami Balasundaran of Dammam and Meryl Saji Kottarathil of Riyadh, both with 94.6 percent.
Renji Krishnan of Dammam and Ahmed Ali Zahir Zaidi of Jeddah are in fourth position with 94.4 percent, Shaileja Harendra Relwani of Jubail with 94.2 percent is in fifth position and Ronak Hameed with 94 percent in sixth position.
The Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam schools, as well as IIPS have reported 100 percent passes at the exam.
Out of 573 students who appeared for the exam from International Indian School-Jeddah, 423 passed in first division, 119 in second division and 15 in third division. The rest obtained compartment.
No student is detained. There are 1,259 distinctions obtained in different subjects by the Jeddah students. Among the girls of the Jeddah school, V.P. Lubaiba topped by scoring 91.4 percent, followed by Saman Bari 91.2 percent and K.N. Safreen 90.8 percent.
Of the 589 students who sat the exam from International Indian School-Riyadh, 404 passed in first division, 157 in second division and 28 students passed with compartment.
The International Indian School-Dammam said it had achieved 100 percent results at the exams for the ninth consecutive academic year. Of 607 students who registered for the exam, 605 passed with two absentees.
