DAMMAM, 1 June 2008 — A Riyadh-bound train collided with another train going west near the Half Moon Crossing shortly after leaving Dammam early yesterday, according to a statement of the Saudi Railway Organization (SRO). No one was injured in the accident.
“Train No. 114 with 70 carriages collided with another train with 53 carriages coming from the Dammam Port at 3 a.m. Saturday near Kilo 32. Two carriages of the second train derailed. However, the driver and other staff of both the trains are safe. The accident did not hamper the movement of other trains,” the SRO statement said.
