JEDDAH, 4 June 2008 — A number of Urdu literary personalities are in town for the two-day World Urdu Conference which starts here tomorrow. Dr. Ausaf Sayeed, consul general of India, will inaugurate the conference at 4 p.m. at the International Indian School (Boys Section). The conference is being organized by India’s Maulana Azad Urdu University in association with the Indian Consulate in Jeddah. A host of local organizations such as Jeddah Urdu Academy, Khak-e-Taiba Trust, Urdu Gulban, Bazm-e-Osmania, Bazm-e-Urdu-Jeddah, Anjuman-e-Farogh-e Urdu, Zinda Dilan-e-Jeddah and Indian Readers Forum are also involved in making this event successful.
