RIYADH: Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ali Al-Naimi held talks here yesterday with British Energy Minister Malcolm Wicks on international oil market and Saudi Arabia's efforts to stabilize oil prices, the Saudi Press Agency said. They also emphasized the need to produce clean petroleum and gas by developing suitable technologies.

SAMA organizes currency seminar

RIYADH: A seminar highlighting security features of new currencies issued by Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA) will be held at the Institute of Banking here tomorrow. Organized by SAMA, the seminar will be attended by experts from within the Kingdom and abroad. It will also include a workshop on currencies, the Saudi Press Agency said.

Farm products for Kingdom

KHARTOUM: The Northern State of Sudan will export 10,000 tons of agricultural products including beans and garlic, to the Kingdom, Finance and Economy Minister of the state Dr. Muhammad Faqeeri said. "An aerial survey showed that the state has 14 million acres of arable and about 160 trillion cubic meters of underground water," he said and spoke about growing investment in the state's agricultural sector.

AMF writes off $100m Iraqi debt

AMMAN: Iraqi Finance Minister Bayan Jabr says the Arab Monetary Fund has written off $100 million in interest on Iraq's $500 million debt.
