ABU DHABI: US missions in the UAE yesterday cautioned Americans living in the country of potential terror threats in the region ahead of the summer travel and holiday season. The warning comes a day after the British Embassy issued a similar alert.
A statement posted on the US Embassy website said US nationals should be aware that the potential exists for terrorists to plan and carry out violent actions in the region, including the UAE. “Americans should maintain a high level of personal security awareness at all times, particularly in public places,” the statement added.
The message follows a warning on Monday from the British Embassy that said “there is a high threat from terrorism. We believe terrorists may be planning to carry out attacks in the UAE.”
