MADINAH: A shepherd in Madinah has filed a lawsuit against his 16-year-old son for stealing two sheep from his flock with the help of two of his friends, Al-Madinah daily reported yesterday. The boy was arrested and taken to the General Investigation and Prosecution Board. He admitted to the crime and said that he had climbed the house’s fence to open the door for his friends who then helped him whisk the sheep away. One of his friends brought his motorcycle along for transporting the sheep. The boys then allegedly sold the sheep for SR1,000 and divided the money among themselves.
Wife's burning rage engulfs hubby's car
MADINAH: A woman here set her husband’s new car on fire in what authorities are calling a crime of jealousy. The Okaz daily reported yesterday that the woman started the fire after she learned from relatives that her husband had married a second wife. Upon hearing the news, she called her family and asked them to pick her up but before they arrived, she went to the car, poured gas on it and set it alight. Her husband rushed out in an attempt to extinguish the flames but the damage had already been done. Enraged, he announced that he was divorcing her.
SR2 million from misyar marriage
JEDDAH: A man inherited SR2 million from his wife who died 14 days after their misyar marriage, Al-Madinah daily reported. Misyar is a marriage in which a woman agrees to marry a man under contractual terms that free him from paying a dowry or supporting her. Misyar is often used by men to get another “no obligation” wife on the side. The man had proposed to the woman who was in her 40s weeks earlier and they had signed a Misyar contract. However the woman died after 2 weeks and as she had no heirs, he inherited her entire fortune. No other information was given in the report.
