MADINAH: The Women’s Real Estate Society in Madinah has decided to preserve the heritage of one of the city’s most historic neighborhoods.
“The move would be a boost to tourism and the activities of the General Commission for Tourism and Antiquities. The neighborhood could serve as a center to display handicrafts produced by self-employed families,” said Jamal Al-Saad, chairman of the Women’s Real Estate Society, which is an offshoot of the Madinah Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The proposal, which was made at the society’s board meeting in Madinah yesterday, would now be submitted for approval to Madinah Gov. Prince Abdul Aziz ibn Majed.
The meeting also discussed ways to support the proposed heritage projects at Darb Al-Sunnah, Saba Al-Masajid Mosques, Al-Qiblatain Mosque and the Meeqat Mosque.
The society also discussed investments it could make in the upcoming Madinah Knowledge Economic City.
Samah Yasin, spokesperson for the society, briefed the meeting about various investment opportunities available across the Kingdom.
The society decided to hold a real estate marketing course to improve the skills of women in the field.
