People must have noticed the huge crowds of gawkers who gather whenever there is a terrible car accident. As those injured in the crash fight for their lives, these crowds work very hard at their favorite hobby of blocking paramedics and rescue workers from doing their job. Rescue workers sometimes end up battling through the crowds to reach the accident.
It is always the same faces, which appear whenever an accident happens. These people have found a perfect pastime and can be divided into four groups.
The first group comprises people who were shocked by the accident because it happened in front of them. While standing around, they realize they are unable to provide first aid and so decide to watch and make the job of paramedics and rescue workers difficult.
The second group is no different from the first. They also do not possess any first aid skills, nevertheless they decide to help thinking this is the appropriate thing to do in such situations. The injured are pulled out of their wrecked cars, even when there is a likelihood of them suffering spinal injuries and handling them in improper way might leave them permanently paralyzed.
The third group is like stamp collectors. Their main hobby is to take photographs and video recordings of accidents. These people use their mobile phones to take pictures of the injured. Some even take pictures of themselves with the injured. If I were one of those injured, I would definitely like to see these people in the same situation.
The fourth group is the funniest; they are called the accident mentors. They stand within the crowds and begin explaining how the accident happened, the time it happened and whose fault it was. This group simply stands around providing hypothetical causes of the accident.
I wish these people realized that when accidents happen every second counts and that it would be an enormous service if they would simply make way for rescue workers and paramedics to reach the crash site and do their jobs.
