JEDDAH: The Makkah General Court was asked to rule on a domestic violence case, an Arabic daily reported yesterday. What made this case unique, however, was that the victim was the husband who filed a case against his wife for assault. When questioned by the judge, the wife not only admitted to committing domestic battery but also told the judge that she had assaulted her husband on several occasions. So why was she taken to court this time? Apparently the husband was angry because she had assaulted him in front of her relatives. The judge convinced the husband to try to talk things out with his wife and the couple ended up by reconciling and giving their marriage another chance.
